Unfortunately, some chemical substances can negatively affect our health and the environment when released in a certain quantity or concentration in the environment. Public Notice under the Commodity Inspection Act (2 pages, in Chinese). | The explosion proof motors have been subject to mandatory inspection under the Commodity Inspection Act by the Bureau of Standards Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) since 1 April 1982. The original testing requirements contained electrical safety, performance and explosion proof testing. The original standard for explosion proof testing was CNS 11779. As of 1 January 2003, all such products must conform to the explosion proof testing standards CNS 3376 serial standards (harmonized with IECIEC International Electrotechnical Commission 60079 serial standards). TPKM intends to adopt the new explosion proof testing standard for explosion proof motors. The abovementioned requirements are stipulated in Article 110 "Safety Standard of Prevention and Guarding Devices - Machinery and Tools" announced by the Council of Labour Affairs, the regulatory authority of explosion proof affairs for electrical devices used in factories. As for electrical safety and performance testing, the testing standards remain unchanged. |

Public Notice under the Commodity Inspection Act (2 pages in Chinese, English translation available) | The Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu intend to regulate Circular sawing machines for wood working, grinding machines and similar equipment as commodities subject to inspection. As of 1 July 2012, all such products must be inspected by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), and must conform, where required, to the requirements of the "Safety Standard of Prevention and Guarding Devices - Machinery and Tools" when marketed. The Standard for the aforementioned products where announced by the Council of Labour Affairs on July 27, 1992, and amended on May 13, 2009. The conformity assessment procedure for circular sawing machines for wood working, grinding machines and similar equipment are under the Registration of Product Certification (RPC) Scheme. However, portable circular sawing machines for wood working, and the portable grinding machines and similar equipment are alternatively subject to the RPC Scheme or Type-approved Batch Inspection Scheme. | 2011-12-21 |
