Ad Hoc Group = temporary working group within a standards committee, which deals with a special topic or issue and is then dissolved again.

Committee on Conformity Assessment = ISO standards committee which deals with the subject of conformity assessment

Committee Draft = draft standard that is distributed for the first time for comment in the superordinate Technical Committee (TC) or Subcommittee (SC)
CE marking
Conformité Européenne means «conformity with EU directives». By using the CE marking, the manufacturer confirms that the product complies with the applicable European directives. The CE marking guarantees that the European safety standards are adhered to, but it is not a quality seal.

Harmonized standard
Harmonized standards are European standards developed by the organizations CEN, CENELEC and ETSI on behalf of the European Commission and EFTA; this means that an order for standards has been issued to these European standardization organizations. Harmonized standards serve the free movement of goods and services within the European single market. The harmonization of standards is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
